About
Rediului Street is the place we refer to as sector 4 of Bucharest, as we go to minister there twice a week, and sometimes more; it’s the place where we present and want to live out the Word of God.
This is where we go and pray that the people will be touched by the Gospel. We started with the very substantial help of our friends to build a house there for a family who use to live in a mud shack.
Either it’s a Thursday when we have an after school program with the kids, or a Sunday for Sunday school, our mindset is that only God can clean their minds and their souls, not only their very visible dirt.
It’s encouraging to know that the kids and some adults know at least who Christ is and what He has done for them – and us -.
The children are a lot of work but also fun to be with. You can only laugh but be grateful when answering what did Christ say to calm the sea “You should calm down now, stop yelling like that!” or who is Christ “God’s boy” and so forth.
One of our great desires is that at least one of the gypsy men or women come to faith and work wholehearted for God’s Kingdom. Our prayer is that the children and the grown-ups who hear the Gospel to be radically changed and be brought to repentance, faith and salvation, through the grace of God! From putting bandages on wounds of the body and soul, to drawing and coloring and making crafts – we are grateful because we have the assurance that this ministry is not in our hands, but in God’s. We think of ourselves as instruments in God’s hand, as clay that needs to be given heavenly shape.
We need all the prayers we can get so that the Light of the world would shine in this dark place. We need prayer for our own protection as well and for these poor people!
In all things, we perceive in our limited way God’s greatness. He is the One who gives us unexpected patience, love and care for people who don’t even know how to be thankful. We walk on by grace and we are changed by the power which raised our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead!
Power is everything but only God is the power, someone use to say… we entrust our hearts, our minds, and our bodies in the care of our Almighty Father!
