Youth conference in Câmpina

Over 100 young people attended the conference in Câmpina, city of Romania, on April 28th. The theme was “What God thinks about you”. Here are some thoughts:

“May God continue to bless you for everything that you have done. I pray that my children and the youth group of our church will take pleasure in the love of our Redeemer, and work among people. Only what we did for Him will count!”

Mission trip to Greece

Upon returning from my latest mission trip to Greece I come back with a deep conviction our Lord is on the move there. In the church in Larissa, pastored by George Yphantidis, I see excitement among the church members. There is an interest in the work we do here in the medical field. We have 3 nurses on staff visiting any who need but especially the very old shut-ins. Many who never read the Bible are now listening and learning about our Lord through the work of our nurses. There are young medical students in Larissa interested in the possibility of starting such a work there. This is true of another church in another city, Katerini, where I preached in the evening. Young believers, seeking ways to spread God’s gospel. One interesting note. In Larissa a young man from a Muslim country sat next to me during Sunday service. His father a Muslim preacher back in his home country. [Country and names excluded for his safety] The young man of maybe 24 years had scares on his face. I found out later that fellow county-man of his nation have beaten him to near death. Only the police arrival has kept him alive. He is under constant threat. But thanks to grace of God, and faithfulness of Pastor George and the church as a whole he is growing and praising our Lord. Please pray for a strong revival in Greece.Include Romania please.Thank you all who are partners in prayer and finances for being co-workers in this work.

Testimonies from the mission field

Lucica,
She is one of the ladies that faithfully attend the church in Budești and even brought her sister and family to the church in Bucharest. She is a very open honest person who humbled herself before the Lord, confessing her sin and declaring her great desire to know more of the Truth!
She has 2 young boys and, together with her husband, earns a living by selling fruits and vegetables in the streets of Bucharest (30 km away from home).
It is very encouraging to hear her testify of the Lord’s love and faithfulness for her and her family! Just recently she was in the street, selling fruits (but very worried and discouraged by her day to day needs) and some person came to her saying: “The Lord loves you, dear daughter of God! Be strong and encouraged! Don’t give up!” This person also bought all her grapes so she got some extra cash for her needs! Wow! The Lord IS good!
Another story is that she was on the public bus and right next to her, two gypsy men were trying to read from the Bible, but because they could hardly understand anything, she offered to read it to them and even explain some of it. They ended up staying on that bus until it reached the end of the line and they were still talking from the Bible. How honored she felt that the Lord would entrust to her, a baby in the faith, sharing and explaining Him to others! Once again, the Lord IS good and He IS alive!

John 20:24-29 was the text read and studied for the joy of those who were present last Sunday in Budești. At the end Lucica shared with us some of her thoughts. She said: “God is bringing in my life believers and I am very encouraged. I always have in my mind a question: what would happen to me if the Lord Jesus comes today? I know that I’m a child of God because I received Him in my heart as my Savior but do I live as a believer? My behavior changed, the way I speak to the others changed, but there are still many changes to be done. I am praying for a lady next to my house who has some psychological problems. Every time I hear her screaming I am aware of the fact that only the Lord can heal her.”

It’s amazing how this ordinary people can be concerned about eternal life and about their attitude thourths God. My greatest joy was when Vergina, one of the women who attends our meetings started to learn Bible verses and to be more interested about the Word of God. She asked us to visit her relatives from the next village and share the Gospel with them.

Easter in Sector 4, 8th of April 2012

Sunday , 8th of April was a special day for us as a team and for the children from sector 4. Why a special day? Well , because we celebrated together our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The first part or our meeting we prayed with the children and then the children sang their favourite songs. After we sang and worshiped the Lord together Samy said the Bible story about the ressurection of the Lord Jesus to the small ones and Cristi had the Bible lesson for the big children.

Then we had a special time when we celebrated Easter together. The children who prepared songs and poems for this time, came in front and sang and recited poems about the ressurection of the Lord. I could see the joy on their faces while they were singing and worshiping the Lord together. Even if they were a bit nervous and shy singing there in front of some parents and new children, I could see the smile on their faces and I knew that the Lord was working in their hearts.

For me it is an honor serving the Lord in sector 4 and teaching these children about the love of God and about His precious Son, Jesus Christ.

We were very happy because the Lord was present, there was indescribable a peace and tranquility, the children sang with joy and there were two new adults who carefully listened to the message that was transmitted by brother Boingeanu. One woman came to listen to Word but couldn’t stay for the whole program because she had a 14 year old at home that is mentally ill and a small toddler. She came and left but at the end she stayed and sang with us “Jesus is the Lord”. Lidia Dragan

Mission trip to Caransebes, 16th-19th of March, 2012

This past weekend March 17-19,we were invited to teach and preach in a church in Turnu Ruieni,which is about 7 hours west of Bucharest.Our time there was a wonderful experience.Great people with a eagerness to learn God’s word.

We met with the youth on Friday evening and then a prayer gathering Saturday evening.On Sunday morning we met in the first of 4 churches.Meetings lasted until well into the evening.

Our Lord’s hand of favor was with us for sure.Now the church plans on gathering youth from churches in the area, possibily up to 300 for a July 25th youth conference.

Once again our Lord has many young believers in this country and I am convinced they are ripe to help in a big revival in Europe.

Please continue to pray for this and help when you can.

Clearing snow in the village of Lunca, Buzau area

160 Km away from Bucharest, Adi Ghetu, from the ECM team, joined a team from The Holy Trinity Church and some news crew to help clear the snow from the streets and homes along the way.

The needs are great, but their greatest need is to hear the Gospel of Christ. Please pray for the many people who seek help, so that they can find rest and peace in the arms of Christ, our Redeemer!

Budesti, 16^th of February 2012

“Hello everyone!

It’s only by the grace of God that we’ve reached the little town of Budesti yesterday! Due to heavy snow and road blockage it was impossible to get there any sooner. But the Word of God is true and can reach far beyond where we could go.

God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose…

We had food for 5 families in Budesti. But as we got there we were just surprised to see how bad things can turn and we left there with a heavy heart.

My heart was not at peace about it all and as the evening came I gave a few phone calls so that the things might get a little bit clearer and the reply I got was this:

“You don’t understand that people in Budesti will never change!”

It was exactly what I needed to understand and see beyond things. This is the very reason why we still go there; we cannot save people nor change them. But when the Holy Spirit touches and transforms those people who no one cares about or gives them any credit, then everyone will recognize God’s power! He is the Only One who can restore people! It’s through His grace and power!

“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.” (Ezekiel 36:25-27)

Let’s be joined together in prayer, especially as we see the day of the Lord is near and the devil doesn’t miss any opportunity to divide and turn people away from hearing the Word of God!

May you be safe in the arms of our Powerful God! “

“Little explorers”

Andreea, Adi, Geanina, Ana Ioncea, Rebeca, Sandina – were the people that took a Sunday school class and learn good skills on how to teach a class, how to make up stories and games that are very interactive. Here are a few of their testimonies.

Geanina:

“This class was a breath of fresh air to me and a push for the ministry with the kids.

The ideas for the lessons and for the games helped me expand my horizon to see the multitude of possibilities there are to teach.

I enjoyed being part of the team, especially because some of us are serving in Sector 4 and some in Budesti. That way we could work together in making up games that we could use for the kids

Being encouraged this way meant a lot in continuing ministering to the kids.”

Andreea:

“It was amazing! I had no idea I could teach a lesson and enjoy it!”

Sandina:

“I felt like a child again. Skipping and running around, making up stories, teaching: lovely! God opened doors to creativity and we used them.”

Adi:

“I’ve learnt stuff that I only heard of before, but never knew how to put it to practice. I think it’s very beneficial for us, as a team, that we took this class.”

What a great way to start the new year! It’s amazing how God discovers ways and skills people had no idea about.

Christmas in Budesti and Sector 4, December 2011

Christmas is not about the snow ! It never was, Bethlehem never had it.

It’s about God who became man.

Kids from Budesti and Sector had joy for Christmas; not only because they were given a small gift, food and clothing, but also they were able to be part of something good, to be in the center of attention for a good thing.

Christ’ message is clear. We want to let the little children go to Him. How could we stop the need for Christ? It’s overwhelming – for them it means acceptance and joy, it means peace in their trouble minds. How could we not spread the Good news?

Each place we visit has a special meaning; God’s ways are various and far better than ours. In fact they’re the best. Our great joy is to give them something that they can hope for, something that does not change something that even if they can’t see they are and will start believing it. And that someone and something and, well, EVERYTHING is God!

May the children and their parents, may the whole neighborhood have hearts that answer the calling!
